Mac, my moms hairdresser, told her that once it started falling out, then call him and he would cut it for me-for free. He is such a nice man. We called him this morning and he got me right in. I really didnt have any idea of what I wanted, so I just let him do what he wanted.
This is Mac telling me that shorter is better. I had to tell him that I didnt agree.
And off it goes!!
Holy cow...is it too late to turn back now?!
And here it is!!! Yikes. Please dont laugh at me if you see me on the street!
Its a cute cut, and he did such a good job, I just feel like a boy or a 50 year old mom. Not so cute with the short hair, but this is a good in between and it will let me get used to what is to come. I guess having some hair is better than having none!!

Oh my heck- it really is STINKIN cute! For reals! I'm not just saying that because it's you or because I've known Mac since I was a little girl! :) It really is so cute! You amaze me. Have I told you that before??!!
It is SO cute, and I am a 30-yr old mom with a similar cut, so STOP IT!
You look GREAT!
I love it Shelley! You for sure pull it off! So cute, you have nothing to worry about, you will totally pull off the shaved look too!
Very Chic! It seriously looks adorable... totally reminds me of Victoria Beckham, and hey no one can go wrong following in her fashion footsteps! :)
I have to say that it looks like your moms, espcially when she was young and newly married (only she didn't have short hair). But you get the point, I love it.
Shelly, I just found out. My mom's just a month behind you in her treatment and you have been on my mind for the last 24 hours.
There's so much love coming at you from me, may I blog about you?
It really does look so cute, Shelly! Now I want brown hair.
love it Shelly!!!!!!! I agree with the other comments... very cute and very sassy!
The cut looks darling on you, Shelly! There are LOTS of perks to super short hair, and you are way too gorgeous to look like a boy (or a 50 year old). Miss seeing you around the neighborhood. Netell
Super Cute on you!
I think it looks great! I love the short hair and I want to go back to it.
I love it!! You are one of the lucky ones that can pull that off. It looks super cute. I am excited to see a picture of the famous Mac! (This is Rachel).
Way cute, Shell! You have such a beautiful face, you will look adorable no matter what. Thanks for posting the pics! Miss you!
I can understand your hesitations to shave, just know that I think you totally have the face to pull off the shaved look. Just think back to all those times when we were kiddos and swam/dove, when you came out of the water your hair was pure slicked back, it looked the same as if it was shaved and you still looked like a rock star- yup, U will totally ROCK it! I am glad you are feeling better. I still think about you all the time. Next time I come to AZ we will have to hang.
Love ya!
I LOVE IT!!!! I'm calling you right now!!
Shelly, it is so cute! You have such a great face that you can pull off any look, seriously. Your eyes and smile - you will be beautiful bald too!
holy cute cut shelly! You should have it like that anyway
Mom told me to come on here and look at your hair and I have to say I LOVE IT!! I think it looks so cute on you. WHen your hair starts to grow back you should keep it like that. I love it!!
I'm coming over from Annie's blog, and I just wanted to say, I'm 25 and have that cut, you look AWESOME! All the best of luck, you're truly inspiring!
I'm a Shellie too! and I also had cancer. I cut my hair short and also had to shave it enventually. my eyebrows, eyelashes, arm hair and leg hair also went bye bye.
I'm posting a cancer story tonight of mine if you'd like to check it out.
MUCH LOVE!
I SERIOUSLY think it looks so cute!!! Thoughts and prayers are with you from the Robsons.
That was Kenyon accidentally signed in as my husband.
Hi Shellie,
My name is Kathy and I am a friend of Annie's and the Valentine family and I am about a year ahead of you in my breast cancer experience. I had cancer in both breasts and several lymph nodes but nothing in the bones or organs and staged at 3B. That was in February last year and I now have completed the treatments, surgery, and as far as we know am cancer free--and I feel great! Denial worked well for me--I only wanted to know what I had to do next and as far as getting sick during the treatments, I assumed that I wouldn't and for the most part, I wasn't. I tried to keep things as normal as I could, which was often hard because my husband is a physician and an alarmist. In looking back, much of the past year is totally blurred--sort of like childbirth, as time passes you forget about the hard part and just remember the joyous blessing that came from it all. For me, this past year has been extraordinary--so much to be grateful for--rich blessings, wonderful people whose prayers and kindness have made this quite possibly the best year of my life. I wish you well in your cancer journey--by now you know that there are so many people remembering you in their
prayers, who have been and will be there when you need them, who bless your life beyond what you could ever imagine--doesn't get much better than that. Take care--you're in my prayers.
I've hopped over from Annies blog too. You really look darling! Best of luck through all your trials.
Came here from Annie's blog. I love reading about your experiences. You are such a great, happy person! And I think your cut is cute. :)
I didn't just "come from Annie's blog" - I'm Annie's sister. Does that make me special? (And did I meet you when I was in Moscow?)
Anyhow, the hair's adorable, you don't look like you could possibly have all those children, and what can I say? You're a rock star.
(And seriously - thanks for sharing. This blog is outstanding).
Darling Hair!!! Seriously so dang cute!
HEy Shell- You know how i feel about short hair. "el-o-vee-ee" it. Being a mom of 5 kids I find that short hair(or no hair) is the best hair to mainstain. I really do like it and think it makes your beautiful eyes pop out. You work it girl. Love ya. P.S. Who is this other annie that everyone is crossing over from. I thought abney, but one of them said it wasn't her.
I love it, i looks so cute and savvy. You go girl.
Wow Shelly! I absolutely LOVE it. So cute!
Im putting you on my friend list so I can keep up on your progress. Just wanted to let you know, hope you don't mind. Just love your posts and your wonderful attitude about everything! I loved Nancy's post about you. Everything she said was true. You were always so nice and sweet to me.
Love,
Andi
It is soo good to finally see a picture of you-- I haven't seen you forever- you look GREAT! You have a great face for the short hair... Love it :)
Loves & Prayers with you
That is a beautiful haircut. When my daughter 'Fiona' started chemo, we had never cut her hair and she was almost 5. We had quite the laughing fit about how all of her hair killed my vacuum. We put off shaving her head because she wore a lot of hats and the stragglers underneath the hats made it look like her hair was just up in the hat. Good luck with the chemo. You can do it!
I think you look so great with that cut! Mac did a great job.
